Louisiana erred badly four years ago by electing Charles Foti to the office of attorney general, where he has proven himself ill-suited for a statewide stage.

The New Orleans politician has stumbled in prosecuting high-profile death cases related to Hurricane Katrina, showing that his office is, if not mean-spirited, at least inept.

Closer to home, Foti's office failed Monroe entirely when it did not offer an attorney general's opinion on the well-connected Rosalind Jones' political advertisements on Monroe city buses. The law seems clear: Advertisements for Jones, state Sen. Charles Jones's daughter, should not adorn city-owned buses...

Alexander Unveils Action Plan to Crack Down on Public Corruption

Baton Rouge - Royal Alexander, candidate for Attorney General, today released his plan to clean up corruption in Louisiana. Alexander's plan is focused on tackling the problem from an enforcement perspective.

"The new Governor will need an Attorney General who is serious about cracking down on corruption, and not just during election season. Our state needs a leader in the Attorney General's office who has a real plan to tackle this corruption problem and today I unveil my plan to clean up corruption in Louisiana," stated Alexander. "This straightforward plan will be implemented on my first day in office," added Alexander.

Royal Alexander is the officially endorsed candidate for Attorney General of the Republican Party of Louisiana. Prior to his position as Chief of Staff to Congressman Rodney Alexander, he served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Division of Administrative Law, State of Louisiana. Alexander has also served as attorney, of counsel, with the law firm of Smith and John in Shreveport, and as Congressional Aide to former Congressman Clyde C. Holloway. He also worked as an attorney with the law firm of Jeansonne and Remondet and as a law clerk for the Honorable Rebecca F. Doherty, U.S. District Judge, Western District of Louisiana. Alexander received his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law and has a B.A. from Louisiana State University-Shreveport.

Metairie - At a key meeting with Jefferson Parish supporters, Attorney General Candidate Royal Alexander announced he has raised over $400,000 in the first 70 days since entering the race.
